## GRE Practice - Data Interpretation - Set 6

1. The number of European passengers in 2018 was what percentage of the number of European passengers in 2016?
1. 125%
2. 160%
3. 150%
4. 180%
5. 210%

In 2016 the number of European passengers was 420 -220 = 200,000
In 2018 the number of European passengers was 720 -420 = 300,000
The number of European passengers in 2018 was 300,000/200,000 x 100 = 150%

1. In the only year that the number of passengers from South America decreased over the previous year, North American passengers formed what percent of the total passengers? Give your answer correct to the nearest percentage.

In 2015, the number of passengers from South America was 40,000 a decrease from 2014’s 50,000. So, we are considering the year 2015.
North American passengers in 2015 = 180 – 100 = 80,000
Total passengers in 2015 = 380,000
North American passengers were 80,000/380,000 x 100 = 21.05%

1. If 38% of all passengers in 2018 were women and 53% of Australian passengers were women, then what percent of all women who flew Stinta in 2018 were Australian?
1. 9.68%
2. 10.17%
3. 8.94%
4. 14.53%
5. 8.72%

In 2018 720,000 people flew Stinta Airlines of which 38% = 38/100 x 720,000 = 273,600 were women.
Of the 50,000 Australians who flew Stinta, 53% = 53/100 x 50,000 = 26,500
So, percent of women who were Australian = 26500/2736000 x 100 =9.68%

1. In 2017, the number of South American passengers for every 100 Asian passengers was____.
1. 133
2. 83
3. 60
4. 125
5. 75

In 2017 there were 320-200 = 120,000 South American passengers
And there were 200 – 40 = 160,000 Asian passengers
Ratio of South American to Asian: 120:160 = 3:4
So there were 3 South American passengers for every 4 Asian passengers
So there were 75 South American passengers for every 100 Asian passengers
